Arbor Day Tree Planting
Improving Our Parks
Planting trees can help save our environment. Trees are an important part of every community and contribute to our environment by cleaning the air we breathe, filtering the water we drink, and providing wildlife habitats.
This year's 5th Annual Tree Planting Event was held at Prairie View Park on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Earlier in the week, parks staff was hard at working prepping the site by drilling holes and putting trees in place so that volunteers can finish planting the trees by filling in the holes with dirt and mulch.
Parks staff was joined by Council Member, Sheila Mobely, Parks Advisory Board Members; Ryan Gusafson (Certified Arborist), Kia Prell, Emily Schroederm neighbors and other residents to finsh off planting and mulching of the 12 new trees to the park.
