Transportation Safety Action Plan
Project Overview
The City of Buffalo is developing a city-wide Transportation Safety Action Plan that evaluates safety issues for people driving, walking, biking, using Trailblazer Transit, or using a wheelchair. This plan will identify safety issues and problem areas and then recommend potential projects and strategies to improve safety for the people who live, work, or play in Buffalo.
What this Project Will Do
- Evaluate city-wide car crash data
- Identify the most critical transportation safety problem areas in the city
- Develop preliminary design ideas for select priority streets or intersections
- Test safety improvements at select locations to understand their impacts
- Create a Transportation Safety Action Plan aimed at reducing crashes on our streets
