Project Schedule Update
The contractor on this project is ahead of schedule and started working on the Mills Woods area milling and overlay on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
July 2, 2024 Street Project Update (PDF)
Overview
The City of Buffalo will be completing a street improvements project on various streets as shown on the attached maps. Certain roadways will have the entire road surface removed, the road base graded, and paved, and is labeled as “Full Depth Reclamation” on the attached map. Other roadways will have a portion of the road surface milled off and a new layer of pavement placed, labeled as “1.5” Mill and Overlay” on the attached map. There will be multiple areas of curb and sidewalk replacement as well. Some minor storm sewer and sanitary sewer work is planned as part of the project.
Project Schedule
The project contractor is Knife River Contracting from Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. Construction activities will begin the week of July 15th. The contractor will remove all or a portion of the existing pavement, complete any curb, sidewalk, or driveway patches, and then place new pavement on the road. It is anticipated that the major construction items will be completed around the end of August 2024 with restoration going into the beginning of September 2024.
Upcoming Schedule
Week of July 15th:
- Begin milling or reclaiming the roadways on the project
- Begin removing curbs, sidewalks, and driveways that need patching
- Begin manhole and gate valve adjustments in the roadway
Week of July 22nd:
- Continue milling and reclaiming
- Begin installing curb, sidewalk, and driveway patches
- Continue manhole and gate valve adjustments
