The City of Buffalo is developing a city-wide Transportation Safety Action Plan that evaluates safety issues for people driving, walking, biking, using Trailblazer Transit, or using a wheelchair. This plan will identify safety issues and problem areas and then recommend potential projects and strategies to improve safety for the people who live, work, or play in Buffalo.
Please check out the project website for project timelines, engagement opportunities and updates.
Questions or concerns about these construction projects please contact City of Buffalo Engineer Justin Kannas at justin.kannas@bolton-menk.com.
The 219.3-acre property is comprised of a mixture of agricultural land, wetland areas, and woodland areas. The proposed development will consist of 69 villa lots, 232 single family lots, 78 twin homes, 160 back-to-back townhomes and 26 row-town homes for a total of 565 residential homes with the associated streets and utility infrastructure.
Expected to be built in phases over several years, this development will include the construction of a roundabout at 8 th Street NE and County Road 35 / Willems Way as well as the connection of Griffing Park Road to Calder Avenue NE.
A 2-acre park is also anticipated for the middle of the development, along with off-street trails that will connect new neighborhoods with the City’s existing trail network.
An Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) has been completed for this development, with public comments received and incorporated into the findings of the report, see EAW and Findings of Fact on the South Shores on Lake Pulaski project page.
The first public hearing on land use requests for this development was held on August 11th, with the 2nd public hearing scheduled for the October 13th Planning Commission meeting.
